Need Articles on Passage from a Sacred Religious Text?

  1. Navigate to the ATLA Religion Database

  2. Click on the “More” button on the top of the screen and select “Indexes.”Sacred Text Screen Shot

  3. Under the “Browse and Index” menu, select “Subjects All.”Sacred Text Screen Shot

  4. In the Browse for box, enter the sacred text you are searching:

    1. (examples: qur’an, Talmud, Upanishads, vedas, book of Mormon, etc.)Sacred Text Screen Shot

  5. Click Browse.  You will see various topical headings you can select from.Sacred Text Screen Shot

  6. Select the topic heading(s), click “Add” and then click “Search.”Sacred Text Screen Shot

  7. To search a sub-unit within a sacred text, enter a period following the title and click on “Browse” and then “Search.”Sacred Text Screen Shot
