Guidelines for Productive BAL Sessions
- Sessions must be scheduled at least four hours in advance for online students.
- Students on campus may walk-in during open library hours.
- Clearly relate your purpose or expectations for the session. Extended topics may need multiple appointment bookings.
- Be prompt and alert librarians if you are unable to attend.
- Expect professional, respectful communication at all times (CCU conduct standards).
Boundaries for BAL Sessions
- Librarians do not provide medical, legal, business, or assignment advice, but rather, librarians lead students to research resources so that students may reach sound conclusions based on evidence.
- Librarians teach and troubleshoot library resources. Further technical or educational help may need to be found with tech support or your Brightspace resources.
- Librarians may end a BAL session if guidelines or boundaries are broken.
