English Bibles are translations of the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts of the Bible into English.
English language texts of the whole Bible are found in the reference section upstairs and in the basement of the library at BS135-198.
Hebrew Bibles
The Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia (BHS) is the most widely used scholarly text of the Hebrew Bible. It is based on the Lenigrad Codex B19A and includes a textual apparatus for textual criticism. Hebrew Bibles in the reference section and in the basement have the call number BS 715. Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia is in the reference section at BS 715 1983. Greek New Testaments
Greek New Testaments in the reference section and in the basement have the call number BS1965. There are copies of the United Bible Societies edition (The Greek New Testament) at BS 1965 1975, 1994, and 2001 and the Nestle-Aland version (Novum Testamentum Graece) in the reference collection at BS 1965 1994.
