Clifton Fowler Library's Exemplary Research Paper Award

Clifton Fowler Library’s exemplary research paper award (CFLERPA) recognizes a student’s outstanding research paper. The award includes a $100 scholarship of cash to the winner.


Any junior or senior student within the College of Undergraduate Studies is welcome to submit a research paper from the 2018-2019 academic year.


Submissions open March 9th, 2019 and closing deadline is 5:00 pm on April 19th, 2019.


  • Paper must be written in the 2018-2019 academic year.
  • Length of paper must be a minimum of 8 pages excluding title page, references, tables, bibliography, etc.
  • Any academic citation/writing style consistent and appropriate to the discipline is acceptable.
  • Students’ are required to submit an application including faculty information, faculty signature, and a one page research reflection essay.
  • Submissions will be scored based on the attached information literacy rubric.


Winner to be announced at Honors Chapel, April 30th, 2019, along with a $100 scholarship.

Directions for Award Submission

  1. Print the CFLERPA Application (which will be available here on March 9).
  2. Fill out the application including your signature and the signature of your faculty reference.
  3. The application, one-page reflective essay, and research paper should be emailed to Briana Martin at in pdf form. Include in the subject line: CFLERPA and your full name. Any material not emailed in will be considered an incomplete submission.
